Bolt: Defect management

We're thrilled to announce the latest addition to Bolt, our fleet management app. This release introduces defect tracking in Bolt. Staff can easily identify and report equipment issues, farm managers can track defects through to completion and technicians can easily resolve defects in the workshop.

Flexible Defect Reporting

Reporting machinery defects is straightforward, with two convenient options:

  1. Direct In-App Reporting: Users can create detailed defect reports directly within the Bolt application, allowing for immediate documentation of issues as they're discovered.
  2. QR Code Quick Links: We've introduced a streamlined reporting system using QR codes. Simply scan the machine’s QR code to access a quick link page where defects can be reported instantly. This feature is particularly useful for field workers who need to report issues on the go.

The new defect tracking system includes a simple workflow to ensure no issue falls through the cracks:

From Discovery to Resolution

Our end-to-end workflow tracks defects from initial reporting through to final resolution. Fleet managers can now:

  • Monitor the status of each defect in real-time
  • Assign priority levels to different issues
  • Track resolution progress
  • Access historical defect data.

Flexible Resolution Options

We understand that different defects require different approaches. That's why we've implemented two resolution pathways:

  1. Manual Resolution: For simple issues that can be resolved without formal workshop intervention, users can mark defects as resolved directly in the system.
  2. Assign to job: More complex issues can be assigned to a job in Bolt. This ensures proper tracking and documentation of repairs within the workshop environment.

With this new feature, we're helping farm operators maintain better control over their equipment maintenance, reduce downtime, and ensure safety compliance.
